Hello November! We are speeding through the Fall season! We love celebrating all the holidays, big and small, so I put together this November Festivities: A Guide to Fun November Holidays handbook!

November is here! And Fall is really showing off here in our area! I adore the Fall season and I think it’s just gorgeous! When we get those cool, crisp mornings, beautiful Fall foliage, and super delicious Fall food, I’m just so happy deep inside. I love celebrating all the fun little moments with my family that I can. The “National Day Of” celebrations are so much fun to celebrate and bring much fun to the daily routines. I love to look at the list and see what will be the most fun to honor as we go into each month. It’s such a fun way to put a little pizazz and joy in our days, and I say the more joy and happiness, the better! Let’s dive into what we have to look forward to in the month of November!

National Holidays in November

Veterans Day

Veteran’s Day is always on November 11 and is a federal holiday. It is in honor of all those who have served the country — both in war and in peace — dead or alive. It’s intended to thank Veterans for their service and sacrifice. It’s on November 11 because the major hostilities of World War I ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 when the Armistice with Germany took effect. It was originally called Armistice Day and was later changed to Veterans Day in 1954. If you or a loved one are a Veteran, I humbly thank you for your service to our country.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day is a tradition that always falls on the 4th Thursday of November in the United States. (It’s celebrated on different days by different countries around the world.) It’s based on the colonial Pilgrims’ harvest meal in 1621 and continues to be a day of showing gratitude for blessings and bounty. I love this holiday, especially the food!

National Calzone Day (Nov. 1):

It’s calzone day! Order up your favorites or make your own from scratch! Start with store-bought pizza dough and add sauce and the toppings of your choice! YUMMO!

Deviled Egg Day (Nov. 2.):

You need to make some deviled eggs today! Search on Pinterest for a recipe that sounds delicious!

Sandwich Day (Nov. 3):

Sandwich Day must involve a sandwich! Want to make it super fun? Make it ONLY sandwich day. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Dessert Sandwiches!!

National Candy Day (Nov. 4):

Candy day!! I can really get behind this holiday!! Time to take a deep dive into all that leftover Halloween candy!

Doughnut Day (Nov. 5):

This magnificent day requires that you have doughnuts. It’s like, a rule. Don’t go breaking the rules. Treat yourself and your family to doughnuts from your favorite place today!

National Nacho Day (Nov. 6):

What an awesome day!!! Nachos for dinner are a MUST! Get some chili and cheese and serve it up! Or get super creative! The sky is the limit! Sky-high nachos!

Book Lover’s Day (Nov. 7):

There are so many fun things you could do! Have your kids pick one of their favorite books that involves food and make that same snack or meal as in the book! Examples: Green Eggs and Ham, Cookies from “If You Give a Mouse A Cookie”

Cook Something Bold Day (Nov 8)

What a fun idea!!! So cook something that’s spicy! Or new! Just cook something that’s bold for you! I recommend the Spicy Pulled Pork in your slow cooker notebook!!

National Greek Yogurt Day (Nov 9):

Have a yogurt parfait with granola and toasted nuts for breakfast. Greek yogurt is SO yummy!!

National Sesame Street Day (Nov 10):

Who doesn’t love Sesame Street! Watch a favorite episode, talk about your favorite characters and make some alphabet soup!

National Sundae Day (Nov 11):

Here is a holiday I can really celebrate! It’s ice cream sundae day! You know what you have to do! Either go get an ice cream sundae somewhere or have a DIY sundae bar at home! You could get all kinds of toppings and everyone can have their own!

Chicken Soup for the Soul Day (Nov 12):

I love some Chicken Soup for The Soul Books! Pull one out if you haven’t read any in a while! And for goodness sakes, you need Chicken Noodle Soup tonight! There’s a crazy easy recipe in your November Slow Cooker Cookbook!

World Kindness Day (Nov 13):

I love this holiday. It’s the easiest thing in the world to be kind to someone. And it costs you nothing. So go out and be kind to everyone you meet today. Maybe even squeeze in a few random acts of kindness, too!

National Pickle Day (Nov. 14):

I am not a fan of pickles!! But if you are — you are going to need some pickles today!!! There are so many kinds of pickles these days. There are even pickle-flavored potato chips! And pickle ice cream!

Clean Your Refridgerator Day (Nov. 15):

I’m thinking you clean it inside and out, from top to bottom. Good home appliance maintenance is vital to the life of your applicances! Clean out all the old food too, especially all the condiments in the door!

National Fast Food Day (Nov. 16):

Dinner is easy tonight! Load up and go through your favorite drive-through! It’s an actual holiday for Fast Food, so it’s totally allowed!!

National Take a Hike Day (Nov. 17):

Here’s a fun holiday! Get out and enjoy the outdoors today! Go to the mountains and hike if it’s close to you, or just go enjoy nature. We have an arboretum that’s really close and we can go hiking in nature in 15 minutes. We love it!

National Apple Cider Day (Nov. 18):

I love apple cider all year round, but it’s just extra magical in the Fall! Get some warm apple cider today! Or get some sparkling apple cider! Or really treat yourself and get a Caramel Apple Spice from Starbucks. Trust me, it’s all the good things in life in a warm cup of joy!

National Play Monopoly Day (Nov. 19):

I LOVE Monopoly! I can’t wait for this day! Bust out the board game and make an evening of it! You can play online now, too!

National Peanut Butter Fudge Day (Nov. 20):

Peanut butter fudge is a triumph in life. I love it so much!!! It’s so easy to make and so delicious!

National Stuffing Day (Nov. 21):

I LOVE stuffing. Although I don’t really stuff it in the bird, and we call it dressing. There are so many different kinds with so many different ingredients and flavors! Maybe make a practice round for Thanksgiving today! Or try a new recipe!

National Flossing Day (Nov. 22):

Everybody get the flossing done today. I’m guessing 90% of us don’t floss like we should, or at all and it’s super important! Have trouble getting the kids to floss? Try these new twisty flossers for kids!

National Espresso Day (Nov. 23):

Here’s a holiday I can get behind! Mommy needs a mocha! Watch out, I’m on my way to the closest coffee shop!

Celebrate Your Unique Talent Day (Nov. 24):

Everyone has talent that’s uniquely their own! Even if you don’t want to share it with others. So today’s the day to honor that talent, even if it’s just to yourself. But if you are willing, let that hidden talent shine today!!

National Parfait Day (Nov. 25):

Ice Cream or Yogurt Parfaits are in order today! Layer them up with all your favorite flavors and dig in! I love a good yogurt parfait for breakfast! It feels like a treat with granola and berries, but it’s actually pretty healthy!

National Cake Day (Nov. 26):

Yummmmmmmmm! Cake day!!! Make your favorite cake today. Or go get cupcakes. Maybe a slice of cake. Or cake balls. There must be cake!

National Bavarian Cream Pie Day (Nov. 27)

I have to confess, I’ve never had a Bavarian Cream Pie before, but today’s the day to try! I can’t imagine it would be anything short of amazing! To save you time, I looked up a recipe for us HERE.

National French Toast Day (Nov. 28):

What a fun way to end the month! Have French Toast for breakfast or dinner today!

National Lemon Cream Pie Day (Nov. 29):

Lemon cream pie is delicious any day of the year, but today is its day! Treat yourself to a slice of lemon cream pie today! It’ll be a nice break from all the pumpkin pie from this month!

National Mason Jar Day (Nov. 30):

I love a mason jar for all kinds of things! They are wonderful to store food, crafts, decorations, flower vases, you name it, they will store it. I love them and have them all over the house! Here’s a simple mason jar craft Supermom Shuffle did for Valentine’s Day!

Wrap-Up: November Festivities: A Guide to Fun November Holidays

November is such a wonderful month. I love the gratitude for the month and of course, Thanksgiving! The Fall colors are everywhere and even though the leaves have mostly fallen, it’s still beautiful out there! The Autumn-inspired food goes into high gear this month, culminating in the most amazing Thanksgiving feast! It’s a time for fun and family and giving thanks for all the blessings we’ve been given in this life. I hope you enjoy these fun little holidays to celebrate throughout November!
