Here we are diving into August! It’s back to school but there’s no shortage of fun still waiting to be had! We love celebrating all the holidays, big and small, so I put together this August Festivities: A Guide to Fun August Holidays handbook!

How is it August already?! Summer has absolutely flown by at our house. And while there are still plenty of warm Summer days ahead, it’s also back-to-school month here! Kids start next week! I love back-to-school time, and I can practically feel Fall around the corner. In the meantime, I love celebrating all the fun little moments with my family that I can. The “National Day Of” celebrations are so much fun to celebrate as a family! I love to look at the list and see what will be the most fun to honor as we go into each month. It’s such a fun way to put a little pizazz and joy in our days, and I say the more joy and happiness, the better! Let’s dive into what we have to look forward to in the month of August!

National Holidays in August
Fun fact! There are no national holidays or federal holidays in August! The next big holiday coming up is Labor Day and it’s early September!

Special Events in August 2024
We have a super fun special event in the first half of August, continuing over from late July! The Summer Olympics continue in Paris! The opening ceremonies are on Friday, July 26, 2024, and the Olympic Events will run to the closing ceremonies on Sunday, August 11, 2024. I adore the Olympics! Especially the Summer games! And these have been some amazing ones so far! And after the regular Olympics, it’s the Paralympics from August 28 – September 8, 2024.
