March Festivities 2025: A Guide to Fun March Holidays
March is such a fun month! And in 2025, it’s got St. Patrick’s Day! We love celebrating all the holidays, big and small, so I put together this March Festivities 20245 A Guide to Fun March Holidays handbook!

It’s March already! How’s that possible? Time is really flying by this year! I love celebrating all the fun little moments with my family that I can. The “National Day Of” celebrations are so much fun to celebrate as a family! I love to look at the list and see what will be the most fun to honor as we go into each month. It’s such a fun way to put a little pizazz and joy in our days, and I say the more joy and happiness, the better!

National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day (March 1):
What a fabulous day to celebrate! At the least, you need a peanut butter sandwich today! Want to get really into it and have a challenge? Work peanut butter into every meal today! If nothing else, go make my favorite cookie on the planet, a Peanut Blossom. They aren’t just for Christmas!
Dr. Seuss’s Birthday – Read Across America Day (March 2):
Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! Celebrate his birthday by reading your favorite Dr. Seuss book! My favorites are Hop on Pop or My Many Colored Days! Our kid’s school usually does a whole week of fun stuff for Dr. Seuss and Read Across America.
World Wildlife Day (March 3):
It’s World Wildlife Day today! Take some time to learn about different animals on different continents. Depending on your children and their ages, you could also talk about different conservation efforts and how people are trying to help the animals. National Pound Cake Day (March 4):
Pound cake is a delight any time, and I love that it gets its very own day! My favorite pound cake is one my mom makes, which my grandmother also makes. Its recipe is published on Supermom Shuffles Cooking for Easy Southern Lemon Pound Cake. It’s a lemon pound cake and it’s amazing for Spring. Or any day to be honest! Eat it warm out of the oven and it will rock your world!
National Day of Unplugging (March 5):
On National Day of Unplugging try to spend a large chunk of time away from your phones and computers. It’s a Friday this year, so that might be tricky. But maybe pick a weekend day and go unplugged for a day! Make it a thing for the whole family for a day!
National Oreo Cookie Day (March 6):
Who doesn’t love an Oreo Cookie? And now they even have gluten-free! My favorite way to eat them is just plain and the thin ones are my favorite. But a close second place is Oreo ice cream, blizzards, or McFlurry. You can even get deep-fried Oreos at some restaurants! However you love them, have one today!
National Cereal Day (March 7):
It’s National Cereal Day. I do love a good bowl of cereal. So, have some for breakfast. Or if you really want to celebrate, make your dinner with the family tonight cereal. Everyone gets to pick what kind they want for their dinner. Super fun! You could also make some Rice Krispy treats too, cause, hey, it’s cereal day!!
International Women’s Day (March 8):
It’s International Women’s Day and it’s a day we spend celebrating women around the world. It’s a day for celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women from all around the globe. Here are some more details about International Women’s Day! from the official website.
National Barbie Doll Day – Barbie’s Birthday (March 9):
It’s Barbie’s birthday today! Celebrate by having some extra Barbie Doll play time today. I loved a Barbie Doll when I was little! I still have all of mine. At the least wear something pink in honor of ‘ol Barbie today! Plus, the Barbie movie brought Barbie back to the forefront!
International Day of Awesomeness – (March 10):
This day is just like it sounds! It’s a day to celebrate awesomeness. If someone is doing an awesome job at something, today is the day to make sure to sing their praises and tell them what a nice job you think they are doing! Cause it’s the day of awesomeness. Here’s a link for a free Certificate of “Awesomeness” I made for everyone to print out and give to others today!
Johnny Appleseed Day (March 11)
It’s Johnny Appleseed Day. To celebrate, do an apple taste test of all the different kinds of apples the grocery store has. You can also do painting with apples! Cut them in half and use them like rubber stamps and make an apple stamp paint craft. Work in some apples somewhere into your day to celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day!
Plant a Flower Day (March 12):
What a fun day this is! Go to the hardware store and grab some flower seeds and potting soil and plant them in some little pots or egg cartons to get them started! When they are ready and the weather is warmer, move them outside so they can continue to grow all summer! Or start them outside in a milk jug to make your own little mini greenhouse!
National Jewels Day (March 13):
Go a little heavy on the jewelry today and celebrate National Jewels Day! It’s the day to celebrate beautiful jewelry creations and the jewelers that make them.
National Potato Chip Day (March 14):
It’s National Potato Chip Day! Work some chips into your meal plan today. It’s hard to go wrong with a good sandwich and potato chips for lunch! Or get really froggy and make your own potato chips tonight!
National Napping Day (March 15):
What a glorious day to celebrate!! Catch a nap, quick or long, if you can today!
Absolutely Incredible Kid Day (March 16):
Today is the day to brag on your kids, and brag hard! It’s Absolutely Incredible Kid Day, so let your kids know just how absolutely incredible you think they are!
Saint Patrick’s Day (March 17):
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Wear your green and eat your corned beef today. we celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day on March 17, which is the date of the death of Saint Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland. There are usually a lot of parades today too! Everyone has a little luck of the Irish today.
Global Recycling Day (March 18):
Today is a day to focus on recycling. Are you doing all you can in your home to reduce, reuse, and recycle? Go through the checklist included in 13 Simple Ways To Be More Green In Your Home!
National Chocolate Caramel Day (March 19):
What an amazing day. You can’t go wrong with chocolate caramel. It’s certainly my favorite! Buy yourself a nice little box of chocolates to share with your family tonight and celebrate. A box of Milk Duds is my absolute personal favorite!
It’s also the first day of Spring today! YAY!!!
Big Bird’s Birthday – Sesame Street Day (March 20):
It’s the big furry (feathery?) yellow guy’s birthday today! Celebrate with an episode of Sesame Street if that’s the age your kids are at! If not, talk about their favorite episodes from years past and have a fun treat in honor of Big Bird’s Birthday! Check out these Big Bird Cake Pops! So adorable!
National Goof Off Day (March 22):
It’s National Goof Off Day! What’s your favorite way to goof off? Mine is to play Candy Crush on my phone or farm on Hay Day app on my iPad. Whatever your favorite way is, spend some time just goofing off today. It’s allowed! It’s National Goof Off Day!
National Chip and Dip Day (March 23):
Oh Yummo! Chip and Dip Day! Pick up your favorite chip and dip combo and have some today! My favorite is tortilla chips and queso dip! YUMMMM!
National Teenager Day (March 21):
I don’t have any teenagers yet, so we don’t have a ton to celebrate. But if you have some, celebrate them today!
National Chocolate Covered Raisin Day (March 24):
If chocolate-covered raisins are your thing, then today is your day! Have some as a treat to celebrate the day!
International Waffle Day (March 25):
It’s waffle’s day! Have some for breakfast, and have some for dinner! Just have some! Make them savory, or make them sweet. It’s totally up to you!! But International Waffle Day calls for Waffles! We just got a new waffle maker that stands up vertically. It’s space-saving, and it makes the crispiest waffles!
National Purple Day (March 26):
It’s a day just to celebrate the color purple! That’s my favorite!! What an awesome and fun holiday! Wear some purple today! Have a purple treat of some kind. Or a purple drink! Purple all day!! There’s a store in North Myrtle Beach called The Purpleologist and I adore it. Everything in the place is purple! I love walking into the shop every time we go to the beach!
National Brother and Sisters Day (March 27):
Celebrate your brothers and sisters today!
National Something On A Stick Day (March 28):
Here’s a day of fun celebrations! Have corn dogs for dinner followed by popsicles! Maybe kebabs! After all, it’s something on a stick day!
National Mom and Pop Business Owner Day (March 29):
It’s National Mom and Pop Business Owner Day! Go to a local store or restaurant and support local business today! (And then keep supporting them!)
National Doctor Day (March 30):
Today we appreciate all doctors! Take a minute to express thanks to the doctors in your lives today!

Wrap-Up – March Festivities 2025 A Guide to Fun March Holidays
Wow! March really has some fun holidays to celebrate! The first day of Spring is just around the corner and I’m all for that. I’m not a cold weather fan and I’m ready for longer days and warmer weather. More outside play time, and tons of flowers and trees coming back to life. And it’s even Easter this month, too! There are so many celebrations to choose from this month! I hope you pick a few of the fun days and celebrate them as a family and have a little fun this month!
