Hello January and Happy New Year! It’s the new year and I’ve put together this January Festivities 2025: A Guide to Fun January Holidays handbook for all your January celebrations!

Happy New Year, Everyone! It’s the new year and January has begun! It’s cold and it’s winter and the holidays are over. And sometimes it’s easy to get the Winter blues in January, so we have all the celebrations you need to pass the month with joy and happiness! I love celebrating all the fun little moments with my family that I can. The “National Day Of” celebrations are so much fun to celebrate and bring much fun to the daily routines. I love to look at the list and see what will be the most fun to honor as we go into each month. It’s such a fun way to put a little pizazz and joy in our days, and I say the more joy and happiness, the better! Let’s dive into what we have to look forward to in the month of January!

Happy New Year, everyone! It’s a day of relaxing and working on your list of New Year’s resolutions!

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

This year Martin Luther King Jr Day is on Monday January 20, 2025. This holiday falls on the third Monday of January each year and honors the achievements and work of Martin Luther King Jr to end racial segregation. Click here for more details on celebrating this day!

New Year’s Day (Jan 1):

Eat all the good luck food, make some resolutions, and officially welcome the new year today!

National Buffet Day (Jan 2):

I adore a good breakfast buffet! Go out and get some breakfast today! Or find a fun pizza buffet for dinner!

Festival of Sleep Day (Jan 3.):

It’s the Festival of Sleep! Mama gets a nap today! She needs one after all the Christmas magic she made for the holidays!

National Spaghetti Day (Jan 4):

Make your favorite spaghetti recipe for National Spaghetti Day!

National Bird Day (Jan 5):

Put out some bird seed or make a pine cone bird feeder. Look up what kinds of birds come to eat out of your feeders!

Cuddle Up Day (Jan 6):

Make it a nice and cozy day! Cuddle up by a fire. Or cuddle up with a good book! Cuddle up with your family! Just make sure you are cuddled up!

National Bobblehead Day (Jan 7):

Get out all the bobbleheads to admire today and maybe even order up a new one!

Bubble Bath Day (Jan 8):

Everyone should take a bubble bath on bubble bath day!! Let the kids take an extra long bath and then indulge in a bath yourself, Mama!

National Word Nerd Day (Jan 9):

Pick a fun word and dress like it today. Or spend some time doing a crossword puzzle or word search. Talk about your favorite words and you could even have a spelling contest.

Bittersweet Chocolate Day (Jan 10)

Get a bittersweet chocolate bar for everyone to try. Or… just go get a mocha at Starbucks for Mama. Cause sometimes Mama needs a mocha!! Mochas are made with bittersweet chocolate syrup!

Learn Your Name in Morse Day (Jan 11):

Look up a guide and let everyone learn to spell their name in Morse code today!

National Hot Tea Day (Jan 12):

Already a hot tea drinker? Enjoy your favorite tea today. Not a big tea drinker? Try something new today and ask your local barista for a recomendation.

National Take the Stairs Day (Jan 13):

Take the stairs all day today. No elevators for you!

National Dress Up Your Pet Day (Jan 14):

It’s dress up your pet day! Give them a funny hat or a fun cape to wear for a picture today!

National Hat Day (Jan 15):

Wear a hat today to celebrate National Hat Day.

National Use Your Gift Cards Day (Jan 16):

Are you like me and your wallet is full of gift cards? It’s National Use Your Gift Cards day! Try to go all day and only use gift cards!

Ditch Your New Year’s Resolution Day (Jan 17):

Don’t ditch them all together. But maybe take a break today and have a treat or relax the new resolution rules.

National Gourmet Coffee Day (Jan 18):

Time to go to the coffee shop and get a special coffee treat!

National Popcorn Day (Jan 19):

It’s Popcorn day! Make up a classic batch or try a new recipe. I’m loving the fruity flavored popcorn these days!

National Cheese Lover’s Day (Jan 20):

Have some mac and cheese or cheese and crackers. It’s National Cheese Lover’s Day. You need something cheesy for dinner tonight!

Squirrel Appreciation Day (Jan 21):

I just love squirrels. And it’s Squirrel Appreciation Day today! Throw some peanuts out on the porch for some squirrels today!

National Blonde Brownie Day (Jan 22):

Finally blonde brownie’s have their day. Look on Pinterest or Google and find a recipe that looks good to try and enjoy some delicious blonde brownies.

National Pie Day (Jan 23):

Pie Day! Make up your favorite pie or grab a frozen one at the store and have pie for dessert today. With ice cream of course! What’s pie with no ice cream! What’s your favorite pie? Mine’s apple!

National Compliment Day (Jan 24):

Happy Christmas Eve! And National Egg Nog Day. I’m not a big Egg Nog fan, but I’m not opposed to some Egg Nog with Bourbon in it to celebrate Christmas Eve!

Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day (Jan 25):

Who doesn’t love bubble wrap? Save all the wrap from Christmas and let everyone go wild on Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day!

National Spouses Day (Jan 26):

It’s Spouses day! Celebrate Your Spouse or Partner and do something nice for them today. Maybe make a favorite meal, or give them some time to do one of their favorite activities today. Tell them how much you appreciate them and all their hard work today and everyday.

National Chocolate Cake Day (Jan 27):

Having a slice of chocolate cake is nearly a requirement today. Make one. Buy one. However you get one, you need some chocolate cake today!

National Kazoo Day (Jan 28):

Who doesn’t love a kazoo? In appreciation for kazoo day, let the kids have a grand time with some cheap dollar store kazoos! It’ll be loud, but they will be entertained!

National Cornchip Day (Jan 29):

You need cornchips today for cornchip day. Fritos would be my choice. We will be having home-made Petros that night, which are served over, cornchips!

National Croissant Day (Jan 30)

It’s time to go to the bakery today and get a nice fresh and warm croissant. They are so, so good!

Backward Day (Jan 31):

It’s backwards day today. Have dinner for breakfast and breakfast for dinner. Wear your pajamas all day and sleep in your school clothes. Walk backward in the house and call the kids by their names backward.

Wrap-Up: January Festivities 2025: A Guide to Fun January Holidays

Happy New Year! January is actually one of my favorite months. It’s still wintery and all wonderland merriment, but the pressure of the holidays has passed and it’s a time to recharge and reboot. I hope you enjoy these fun little holidays to celebrate throughout January! These fun little celebrations bring some joy to the table and let you have some fun!
